Edamame snacks!

I’m not a big cook, but this is one of my favorite healthy snacks (and of the only ones I know how to cook LOL). This is a step to step of how to make your edamames for a healthy treat after lunch, at nigth or anytime your hungry.

What do you need?

  • Frozen edamames, you can buy this at any chinese food store or organic market. I actually just know two places where you can get it: there’s Gourmet Center zona 10 & the chinese store which name I don’t remember at Cayala! Take note: this veggie is often hard to find in a regular store.
  • Some salt
  • & Soy sauce (if you like it)

Besides the naturally soft organic cotton fabric is a lot more comfortable to use and is available at competitive prices.

  • It takes about one-third of a pound of pesticides and fertilizers to grow enough non-organic cotton for just one T-shirt.
  • Non-organic cotton uses more insecticides than any other crop.
  • Conventional cotton cultivation is alone responsible for consumption of more than fifteen percent of the world’s total production of pesticides.

ORGANIC BEAUTY!!

You gotta think about your skin and be very careful of the things you put on your skin and in your hair, you wanna avoid all the bad toxins and chemicals that of course are dangerous. There’s lots of things for your organic beauty from buying to making it yourself. Let’s start with some recipes of organic beauty that you can make on your own:


SKIN CARE

ORGANIC OATMEAL AND RAW HONEY MASK

This is an easy recipe with ingredients you’ll likely have in your kitchen

what do you need:

  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1 cup filtered warm water
  • 1/2 cup raw honey

what’s the benefits? Honey is actually a naturally antibacterial, and oatmeal is incredibly soothing for your skin so making this mask is great for acne-prone skin.

Directions: Combine the oatmeal and warm water and allow the oatmeal to absorb the water. Add honey, mix, and apply the mixture. Leave on for up to 30 minutes. Rinse well.

Examples of Vegetarian Protein!!

Take note:

In this post I’m giving you some examples (given by my nutricionist sister) of how you can replace the protein of animals in your every day meal.

When I say milk it can be: soy milk, 2% percent milk, rice milk, sunflower milk, almond milk or any kind of milk you drink if you are a vegan or just dont drink dairy.

Cereals

Rice with vegetables

Rice cooked on milk

Corn with vegetables

Macaroni & cheese

Whole bread with cheese

Wholemeal cereals with milk (on breakfast)

Dried Fruits & Seeds

Peanut Butter sandwich with milk

Sesame seeds with beans, like hummus

Vegetables

Stewed beans with whole bread

Peas soup with whole bread

Soy with rice & wheat

Soy with corn & milk

Soy yogurt with granola

What else comes with an ORGANIC lifestyle?


We all know It’s all about eating healthy, your fruits & veggies. I’m not saying NEVER eat junk food but when you eat healthy you feel good physically and mentally, switching from chips to edamames for example is a way to make a snack fun. My suggestion is save your cheats for things you really love like a good piece of chocolate cake or your fav pasta at a restaurant.

But with healthy it also comes your body and your mind…

GET TO KNOW ME!!

image2Why I chose Organic?

I started with a non-red meat eating lifestyle. I never really loved red meat and after a traumatic experience with -dead cows- at school I decided to take my dislike into my diet. My sister is a nutritionist and she got me into the healthy world so I started exploring the healthy lifestyle and found out about organic food and got a lot interested into being green and giving back to the world. I started going to the farmers market and got a lot more involved with people on the inside. Going to the supermarket and founding out that we have the healthier and greener choices but we just got to choose the lifestyle.

So choose it, not for the trend or to be “cool” but because you want to live a healthier lifestyle for yourself and for the world. Don’t label yourself into any category just the healthy one, that’s what I do!!
